Johan Santana is now a New York Met. So what? Is this the missing link in a baseball pitching rotation to prevent the collapse of last season and catapult the Mets into the playoffs? All I see is a whole lot of questions and a feeling the underlying problem of last season isn’t resolved with a lefty pitcher.
Will Santana help the Mets? Absolutely, anytime you get a quality lefty pitcher like Santana, it will improve your pitching staff. The real question in my mind is his presence going to help the team off the field and in the dugout? This will only be answered as the season progresses to see if it will help the Mets down the stretch.
