Don’t Use Oil on That New Baseball Mitt?
A big controversy beginning to brew here. Don’t use oil on that new baseball mitt? This is a ritual I have been using since I played baseball as a kid. I even passed this rite down to my son when he began to play baseball. I just don’t get this, until I read Coach Scott’s comments to a question on GoodGuysReview.com. “Why don’t you recommend using oil to break in a glove”?
As I read his comments, it sure did make a lot of sense. All my gloves have ripped at some point and couldn’t understand why. I just thought I was playing tough baseball. Instead, it was because I was applying to much baseball glove oil on my mitt.
So if you really want to have an idea of how to treat your baseball glove and perform good glove maintenance. Check out Coach Scott’s comment on “Don’t use oil on that baseball mitt”. Your glove will be around for a long time.
